REPORT

Real-Time Visibility and Sustainability in Europe’s Logistics Sector

Sustainability is one of the most important and complex challenges facing the world today.

Yet, 28% of supply chain companies still don’t have a sustainability strategy in place, according to “Real-Time Visibility and Sustainability in Europe’s Logistics Sector”, a Europe-wide survey of more than 200 supply chain stakeholders from Transporeon Visibility Hub and Transport Intelligence (Ti). A further 20% have a sustainability strategy that is less than two years old, highlighting the general lack of maturity across the industry.

Key takeaways:

  • Europe is becoming greener

More than 72% of those surveyed have a supply chain sustainability strategy in place.

  • Improving sustainable operations

Real-time data is the most valuable to respondents when it comes to making improvements in sustainable operations.

  • Shippers are adopting technology at a rapid pace

At least 60% of those surveyed either have or plan to adopt tech-based solutions including carrier performance monitoring, route optimisation and shipment status monitoring in the next two years.
